Q1. Does the lash extension application hurt at all and how long does the procedure take?
The procedure is very safe and relaxing and many of our clients fall asleep as you are required to keep your eyes closed through the whole procedure. Each session takes between 1 to 2 hours depending on your desired volume, and infills would take around 30 mins to 90 mins. We recommend you put 2 hours aside for your first appointment.

Q2. How long do lash extensions last for and will they fall out naturally or do I need to get them removed?
Lash extensions generally last up to 6 to 8 weeks depending on how you care for them. Avoid rubbing your eyes or touching the lashes as this may cause the extensions to fall out. If you do not get them touched up after a full set, they will gradually fall off after 6 to 8 weeks. We can remove the lash extensions for you at no extra charge if you want to get them taken off.

Q3. How much does it cost and how long does it take to get my lash extensions removed?
If your set of eyelash extension was done by us, we will remove them at no extra cost, removal should take around 15 minutes. If your set of lash extensions was done by another salon, we have a standard fee of $40 for first 30 minutes, and $30 for every 30 minutes thereafter depending on the amount of glue used.

Q4. I have lost some of my natural eyelashes due to waterproof mascara and metal eyelash curlers. Can I get those ones replaced with lash extensions?
This is very common amongst mascara wearers; however lash extensions are to enhance, not to repair. We will not be able replaced those missing or broken, we advise you to stop using mascara or eyelash curler for a few weeks until your natural lashes grow back to standard length.

Q5. I have seen my friend have extensions applied with other beauty salons; her lash extensions seem to be very long. Can I have them shorter?
Our lash bar imports our very own line of lash extension products from Korea; we have lashes in 8 different lengths, 4 different thicknesses and in 2 different curls. That is over 60 different sizes available and we will choose the sizes suitable for you depending on your needs and your natural eyelashes. In most sets, we mix 6 or more different sizes to create a natural feathery look.

Q6. Can I still wear mascara with my lash extensions?
Yes you can wear mascara with your extensions, however only non waterproof mascara can be used. Most clients do not find mascara necessary because the extensions already create darker, longer and thicker eyelashes.

Q7, I have very sensitive eyes, can I still have eyelash extensions applied?
Yes, absolutely. Our products are very gentle on your eyes and lashes. It is very important however that you keep your eyes closed the whole time during the procedure. So far we have not had any clients have an allergic reaction to our products. A few of our clients did find mascara irritated their eyes and caused redness, however they do not have any problems with lash extensions.

Q8. I would like to get lash extensions for my wedding, when is the best time to get them done? Do I require a trial?
We recommend getting them around 2 days prior to your wedding; this is to ensure they have been set and looking fresh for your big day. In the last year we have had over 100 brides have their lash extensions applied by us, and about 50% of them did have a trial. Trials are not essential but some brides had them done for other special occasions prior to their wedding, so they can get an idea of what the lashes look like. For trials we recommend at least 8 weeks before the wedding day.

Q9. What do I need to do to look after my lash extensions?
Do not get your lashes wet for first 24 hours and do not get them steamed for the first 48 hours. It is very important as the glue takes about 2 days to 'set', once the glue has been set, your lashes should not come off from your natural lashes. We also found the major factor is how you sleep, sleeping on them or wearing an eye mask can crush them. For aftercare please visit our aftercare page www.cerise.co.nz/aftercare

Q10. I have fair and fine lashes; can I get them tinted before lash extensions?
We recommend tinting your natural lashes if they are very fair. This way the lash extensions will blend perfectly with the tinted lashes. We can tint your lashes for you prior to the lash extension application in the same appointment. Please allow extra 20 minutes.

Q11. Eyelash extension seems to be a very expensive treatment. What do I need to research in finding a lash professional?
Eyelash extension is the latest beauty treatment, in USA an average set costs around $300 and in the UK an average set costs around $450. It is a very time consuming procedure as we adhere the lashes 1 at a time on top and along your natural eyelashes.

  1. It is important to find out how many sets of extensions the professional applies on a weekly basis and if they have any pictures of their work to show you.
  2. Find out how many lashes you will get applied for a set, as everyone's eyes are different, some have more lashes than others.
  3. Ask what sort of products they use, and how many sizes of extensions they carry. It is difficult to create a beautiful set of extensions if they only carry 3 sizes.
  4. Ask if the professional has been through proper training for lash extension application. As improper training can cause serious damage to your eye or lashes.

Q12. You have so many prices for lash extensions, how do I know which one is right for me?
Yes we have 5 different sets available from 30 to 70 lashes per eye depending on your desired volume. It is incorrect to think that having less lashes = more natural, we've found you need to have enough extensions to cover the lash line in order to create a natural look. We agree that you need to have at least 30 lashes put on and our most popular set is about 50 lashes per eye. It is difficult to decide which set is suitable until you come in for an appointment. You will need to decide on the look you are after and how much you would like to spend on a set. Then we will prepare your lashes at your appointment and we will decide how many we can actually apply.
