General Questions and Application

How long does Semi-permanent lash extension last for?

When lash extensions are properly applied and maintained, they can last between 4 to 8 weeks.

•   Natural lashes shed in a replenishing cycle every 60 to 90 days. When a natural lash shed, a new lash is already growing underneath and quickly replacing the old. This constant process is hardly noticeable with natural lashes, but when you have extensions, you may see a fallen lash with the extension still attached.

•   Depending on the individual's lifestyle, the longevity of the lash extensions may vary. Avoid sleeping on the face, rubbing your eyes which will have great impact on the longevity.

•   Climate is another major factor, lashes generally last better in cooler climate. Heat and humidity can soften the bond, lashes do require extra care and maintenance in summer.

Does the application process hurt?

No, lash extension is a very relaxing procedure, many clients actually fall asleep during their appointment.

Do they feel heavy on my eyes?

With proper application, you should not feel the weight of your new lashes. Sometimes they feel lighter than wearing mascara.

Does eyelash extension damage my natural lashes?

A lot of lash damage seen are from uneducated stylists offering extensions that are too long or too thick, or with excessive amount of glue used. The correct sizes used are extremely important and we advise clients to return for maintenance so we can assess the health of their natural lashes. Generally with the correct application, semi-permanent eyelash extensions will not damage natural lashes.

I have very sensitive eyes, can I still have eyelash extensions applied?

Yes, absolutely. Celebrity Lash products are designed to be used around the delicate eye area. It is very important however that you keep your eyes closed the whole time during the procedure and follow our aftercare instructions closely. Reactions can occur in extreme cases, but it is not common as the false lashes are not applied directly onto the skin.

Can I get my lashes tinted before applying eyelash extensions?

Yes, tinting is highly recommended if you have fair coloured lashes. The tinted lashes will be easier for our stylists to see and it also adds intensity to the overall look.

Can I replace some lost natural eyelashes with lash extensions?

If the natural lashes are only broken at the ends, we can apply extensions to bring back the length, but this must be done to both eyes to ensure they look balanced. If you had some lashes pulled out, we can use Party Lash to bridge the gap as a temporary fix. Please ring us and book for a consultation.

Can I choose different sizes?

At our initial consultation, our stylists will choose the sizes suitable for you according to your natural eyelashes and desired look. In most sets, we mix 3 to 6 different lash sizes to create a natural feathery look. Cerise uses Celebrity Lash products, and we have over 180 different lash sizes in stock, so every set is customized just for you.

Care and Maintenance

Can I apply mascara with my eyelash extensions?

Mascara is optional but not recommended. You can request a fuller look with your lash extensions to replace the need of wearing mascaras. Only non water proof mascara can be used on top of new lashes, and remove gently with oil free eye makeup removers.

What do I need to do to look after my new lashes?

Do not get your lashes wet or steamed for the first 48 hours. It is extremely important as the glue takes about 2 days to 'set', after this time the extensions will be fully bonded. Avoid oil based products on or near your eyes, for full aftercare instructions please visit www.cerise.co.nz/aftercare

How often should I get them touched up?

We recommend you should get them touched up every 2 to 3 weeks.

Do they fall out naturally or do I need to get them removed?

If you do not get your lashes touched up, the will fall out gradually over 8 weeks. If you do wish to get them removed, you must get them removed by a professional. Do not attempt to pull them out yourself.
